Travis Audubon's Birdability Map!

Good evening, All!

I hope this beautiful first day of June finds each of you well and navigating your individual worlds with as much gusto and grace as possible.

I wanted to share the latest rendition of a Birdability map in Austin. Travis Audubon Society created a map of local accessible birding sites based on the information I provided.

Please check it out! I think it would be cool if every Audubon chapter had a similar map for its area, included on its website.

The local Audubon chapter maps would supplement the Birdability GIS map, designed by Liz Todd and Ryan Hobbs at National Audubon.

Cool?

Virginia

Virginia Rose

Virginia fell off a horse at the age of 14 which resulted in a spinal cord injury. A wheelchair user ever since, she began birding 17 years ago and discovered her best self in nature. She has led bird outings for Travis Audubon for seven years, and leads the accessible outings for the Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival each year.

As a retired high school English teacher, she is passionate about bringing the same joy of birding and nature to others who have mobility or other accessibility challenges. Her infectious positive attitude is the force behind Birdability.
